Charitable Lindy Hop Workshop in Toronto for #FrankieMonth

May is Frankie Month! In celebration of the great Frankie Manning, and as part of events taking place around the world, we would like to hold special workshops in Toronto.

INSTRUCTORS: Mandi Gould & Kevin Miller
Mandi Gould, co-founder of Toronto Lindy Hop and Bees’ Knees Dance, is the Canadian board member for the Frankie Manning Foundation. She will be teaching special Frankie Manning inspired workshops alongside her the talented Kevin Miller, an active dancer, instructor, and musician in the community.

**All proceeds will be donated to the Frankie Manning Foundation.**

 

Workshop Schedule

Saturday, May 5th, 2018

  • 3pm to 4:30pm – Workshop 1 – Home of Happy Feet
    • Intermediate
    • Students should be familiar with 8-count Lindy Hop patterns including the Frankie Phrase (Swing Out from Closed, Swing Out, Swing Out, Circle)
  • 4:30pm to 4:45pm – Break
  • 4:45pm to 5:45pm – Workshop 2 –What Would Frankie Do?
    • Intermediate+
    • The workshops will progress so you must have prior permission to attend only the second workshop**
    • In addition to familiarity with the Swing Out and other 8-count patterns, students should have experience social dancing and feel comfortable dancing at a variety of tempos
  • 5:45pm to 6pm – Questions & Practice
